PACING: How to Set the Pace for Our Students?

For part-time students, they often prefer the gradual pacing.

  • Fawakih’s gradual paced course requires a 3 hour weekly commitment, which includes 1.5 hrs of in-class interactive time and 1.5 hrs of mandatory self-study (BEFORE each class) through videos, textbook lessons and exercises, and vocabulary learning.

  • Fawakih’s steady paced course requires 4 hours weekly commitment, which includes 2 hrs of in-class interactive time and 2 hours of mandatory self-study (BEFORE each class) through videos, textbook lessons and exercises, and vocabulary learning.

GUIDELINES FOR PRICING: How much should we charge our students?

Fawakih charges $600 per semester and offers financial assistance from its student fund for put to 50% of the tuition for those who cannot afford the tuition. Fawakih’s student portal self-paced access to the full curriculum is $75/month.

Textbooks are additional. Some organizations will include textbooks in their price, whereas others will have students purchase them directly. Bulk orders do have discounted rates, so there is a financial advantage to order them centrally and have them available.

Institutions are welcomed to charge according to their community. We could encouraging charging an amount to ensure commitment upfront, yet offer financial support for those who cannot afford it.

MARKETING: How to present the Fawakih-Powered program?

Ensure it is clear that this is not a “Fawakih program”, rather a Fawakih-Powered program in which you are using Fawakih curriculum and resources to run your own Qur’anic Arabic course.

CLASS SIZE: What is the ideal cohort size?

40-50 enrolled students for Level 1 should be the target if you aim to continue past to level 2 and beyond (given dropping out and falling behind).

You should expect 20% of the class to be absent any given day, particularly after the first day.

Fawakih can provide best practices on how to retain and motivate students throughout their journey, as well as expected attrition rates, given even strong students may have life circumstances that may prevent them from continuining, whereas students with weaker reading backgrounds may struggle with the course for other reasons.

VENUE: How do we create the right class environment?

  • Comfortable, beautiful, convenient.

  • Projector for slides

  • Wifi for quiz taking

  • Not auditorium style, but classroom format to increase engagement. White board needed.
