Quranic Arabic Instructor
Ustadh Relwan Onikoyi graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2011 with a BA in Philosophy and minors in Arabic and Hispanic Studies. Relwan is currently completing a doctoral degree in Religion at Temple University, with a concentration in Islam. His research interests include Islamic thought and the spectrum of Sufi expression in the medieval world.
He joined Fawakih as a beginner student and was voted the “Top Student” in the 2010 summer cohort. Soon after, he traveled to Jordan for 8 months to study Arabic at Qasid Institute. While there, he was exposed to the study of various Islamic sciences with traditional scholars, and was specifically trained in the recitation of the Quran. In 2015 Ust. Relwan joined Fawakih as an instructor in the Philadelphia year-long Quranic Arabic course held at Drexel University. He has taken a group of Philly-based students through Level 5 and activity teaches in Fawakih’s online courses.
