LESSON 2
[10/2/22] PG. 42 - The plural of بَقَل is بُقُول (with a dhamma on the ب, not a fatha)
[10/3/22] PG. 34/36 - The instructions should say “A. identify the بَدَل…” (NOT مُبدل منه)
LESSON 3
[1/1/24] PG. 68 - Q#3 - the word اغواء should end in a hamza on the line.
[1/1/24] PG. 68 -Q#9 - the word أعجبني should be spelled with a ج (jeem) not a ح (Haa).
LESSON 4
[11/22/22] PG. 81 - The passive past tense of أَمَلَ should be أُمِلَ (it is as expected).
[11/22/22] PG. 81 - The passive past tense should be أُوْمِنَ (ending in a fatha).
[1/1/24] PG. 86 - First example: The root is خ - و - ن, not خ - ي - ن
[10/16/22] PG. 86 - The translation for #1 should be: “Indeed, the covenant will be commitment is questioned [about].”
[10/16/22] PG. 86 - The translation for #5 should be: “And eat and drink, and do not be excessive.”
[1/1/24] PG. 87 - Q#13: The root is ء - ذ - ن, not ء - ذ - ت
[10/2/22] PG. 91 - On line 8, the word يضرب should be vowelled يَضْرِبَ (a kasra on the letter ر). The word المقتول should end in a fatha.
[1/1/24] PG. 91 - Third line: it should be بقرةٌ عوانٌ صفراءُ (ie with همزة مضمومة)
[1/1/24] PG. 91 - Seventh line: it should be فَاشْتَرَوا (ie, it is همزة الوصل between the faa and shin, not همزة القطع)
LESSON 5
[10/24/22] - PG. 100 - The example given for the contraction of أَنْ + ما in the diagram is incorrect. The word أَمَّا in the statement “الله خير أما يشركون” is a contraction of أَمْ + ما, i.e. “It God better or that to which they ascribe partners?”
PG 101: When لولا is followed by جملة فعلية it has the meaning of تحضيض (not شرط) which students are not required to know. The particle لولا is mentioned because of its relationship to لو and students are only required to know how to translate لولا.
PG 103 & 105: Example #12 uses the word لولا but is not an example of لولا acting as a شرط. The usage here is known as أداة التضيض. Though not an example of a conditional, students can still translate the word correctly, using either “Why is not that…” or “If only…”
LESSON 6
[1/1/24] PG. 128 - Q#4: the مفعول به is only the word (ذراعيـ), not the attached pronoun (ـه)
[10/2/22] PG. 142 - In the second to last line, the verb should be يَتَلَقَّونَ (ie with قاف مفتوحة)
[10/2/22] PG. 142 - On line 9, the word الناس should end with a dhamma (not a fatha).
LESSON 7
[11/14/22] PG. 159 - The present tense conjugation for أَنْتُما should be يَخافانِ (with a kasra on the nun)
[1/1/24] PG. 167 - In fourth line, maybe best to translate as “then to go to Mount Sinai in order for his Lord to speak to him (instead of “to speak with his Lord”).
[10/2/22] PG. 168 - On line 1, the word هدى should be written هُدىً (with a fathatayn, not a kasratayn)
LESSON 8
[11/28/22] PG. 177 - Under the heading “Yā’ī-II” the word بقى should be written بَقِيَ (baqiya).
[11/20/22] PG. 189 - For exercise #2, the pattern should say فعل ماض هُمْ (not أَنْتُم).
LESSON 9
[2/6/22] PG. 194 - The translation for #10 should be “deem me” not “deem be”
[1/1/24] PG. 203 - For #2, the translation should read “So they slaughtered it (not “her”), but they almost did not do it.”
[1/1/24] PG. 203 - Also, for #5, for the خبر of يمسح, we can also add “(hidden verb to مفعول مطلق)”
[11/22/22] PG. 203 - Exercise #6 is not an example of عَسَى as a فعل ناقص so it cannot be analyzed for an اسم and a خبر. It is a فعل تام and has a فاعل.
[1/1/24] PG. 204 - For #10, the translation should read, “He said: Son of my mother, truly the People of the Book deem me (not “be”) weak, and they were about to kill me.”
[11/28/22] PG. 205 - Under the heading “Yā’ī-II” the word بقى should be written بَقِيَ (baqiya).
[1/1/24] PG. 207 - For the conjugations for خشي, The فعل مضارع should say يَخْشَيُ (in the grayed out part), not يَخْسَى
[1/1/24] PG. 212 - Q#6: because the verb is passive, it should say “you are receiving the Qur’an.”
[10/16/22] PG. 217 - On line 3, the word يعيشون should be vowelled يَعِيْشُونَ (with a kasra on the ع).
[11/22/22] PG. 217 - On line 4, it should read بِعُيُونِهِمْ (with a dhamma on the ع).
[11/22/22] PG. 217 - On line 5, the word بَيْت should be بَيْتٍ (with a kasratayn)
[10/16/22] PG. 217 - On line 5, the verb يتسرب should be vowelled يَتَسَرَّبُ (with a fatha on the ر). Also on line 5, the word بيت should end بَيْتٍ (with a tanwin kasra).
[11/22/22] PG. 217 - On line 6, the word ذوقهم should be ذَوْقُهُم (with a sukun on the و).
[10/16/22] PG. 217 - On line 6, the word الحدور should be vowelled الحَدُور (with a fatha on the ح and a dhamma on the د). Also on line 6, the word ذوقهم should be vowelled ذَوْقُهُم (with a sukun on the و).
[10/16/22] PG. 217 - On line 7, the final word should have an alif at the end, e.g., سَبِيْلًا .
[1/1/24] PG. 217 - On line 8, it should be جازوا البحر (ie with ح, not خ)
[10/16/22] PG. 217 - On line 10, the word فضلكم should be vowelled فَضَّلَكُم (with a fatha above the shadda on the ض).

[1/1/24] PG. 241 - Number 9: The verb تَنِيَا is فعل مضارع مجزوم, not فعل الأمر. However, we can further clarify that there is لا الناهية (prohibition) here.
[11/30/22] PG. 243 & 245 - On line 2, the sentence should be فُتِنَ بَنُو إِسْرائِيْلَ (with بَنُو instead of بَنِي).
[11/30/22] PG. 245 - On line 6, the word should be مَفْتُونِيْنَ (with a fatha on the م).
[11/30/22] PG. 245 - On line 6, the word in the verse should be أُشْرِبُوا (with a dhamma on the hamza).
LESSON 11
[12/6/22] PG. 259 - The verse given as an example of the idiomatic expression أَرَأَيْتَ should be translated as: ““Have you considered: if your water were to sink, then who [else] could bring you flowing water?” Also the verse reference number is 68:30 (not 68:28).
[11/14/22] PG. 264 - The verb اِعْتَرَفَ should have a sukun on the ع.
[11/30/22] PG. 265 & 267 - One line 6, the word should be عاقَبَهُ (instead of عقابه).
[11/14/22] PG. 267 - On line 6, the word should be voweled يَأْلَفُ (ya’lafu, form I present tense active verb).
[12/6/22] PG. 267 - On line 8, the phrase at the end of the line should be بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ
[1/1/24] PG. 269 - Q#5, it should be إحدى عشرة أختًا (not أخواتٍ)
[1/1/24] PG. 269 - Q#9: it should be وَدِدْتُ لو أنّ لي مئةَ سمكةٍ (ie not مئةُ سمكةٍ), as مئة is اسم إن مؤخر منصوب

PG. 176 - Question #6 The word قلِيل should end with an alif, i.e. قَلِيْلًا
PG. 179 - In the second chart on the page, the pronoun أَنْتُنَّ should not be listed with هُمْ\أَنْتُم.
PG. 182 - The greyed out words for اِصْطَفَى are incorrectly written with a س as the root word. The root is ص ف و (as the blackened examples show).
PG. 183 - in the mudari' for qada, the ض is written as a ص in yaqdiyu (in the greyed out word)
PG. 184 - iftada: ف is written as a ق in muqtadin (muFtadin - ism fa‘il)
PG. 184 - “To except” should be translated as "to make an exception"
PG. 184 - istathnaa is written with a kasra and should be written as istAthnaa (with a fatha)
PG. 193 - a space should be added between “mankind” and “with” (text line 9)
PG. 194 - The word رَأَوا should have a fatha on the hamza not a damma
PG. 196 - Question #2- shajarah should end in a kasra not a fatha
PG. 196 - Question #3 - The word Sah is used, yet was not given in the lesson. This is a remnant of a previous version of the lesson and students should not be expected to know this word.
PG. 196 - Question #4 The word dūnaka is used, yet was not given in the lesson. This is a remnant of a previous version of the lesson and students should not be expected to know this word. The same is true for the word hadhāri.
